Account & Data Deletion
Request deletion of your account and personal data
We respect your right to control your personal data. If you wish to delete your account and all associated personal information from The City App, you have two options:
Option 1: Delete Account In-App (Recommended)
The fastest way to delete your account is directly within The City App:
- Open The City App on your device
 - Navigate to your Profile or Settings
 - Scroll to the bottom and tap "Delete Account"
 - Confirm your deletion request
 
Your account and personal data will be permanently deleted immediately.
Option 2: Request Deletion via Email
If you're unable to access the app or prefer to request deletion via email, please contact us at:
Please include the following information in your email:
- Subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
 - The email address associated with your account
 - Your account name (if different from email)
 - Any additional information to help us verify your identity
 
We will process your request within 30 days and send you a confirmation email once your data has been deleted.
What Data Will Be Deleted?
When you delete your account, the following data will be permanently removed:
- Your account information (email, name, profile details)
 - Your profile picture and preferences
 - Your activity history and participation records
 - Your chat messages and communications
 - Your friend connections
 - Your location history
 - Any other personal information associated with your account
 
What Data May Be Retained?
Some data may be retained for a limited period as required by law or for legitimate business purposes:
- Transaction records (if applicable) for accounting and tax purposes
 - Records necessary to resolve disputes or enforce our Terms of Use
 - Anonymized or aggregated data that cannot be used to identify you
 - Backup copies in our systems (automatically purged within 90 days)
 
Important Notes
- Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
 - You will lose access to all activities, chats, and connections.
 - If you created facilities or activities, these may remain visible to other users but will no longer be associated with your account.
 - If you change your mind, you'll need to create a new account from scratch.
